Tennis drops out of Texas tourney

The Minnesota men’s tennis duo of sophomore Thomas Haug and senior Martin Michalowski finally had their luck run out at the All-American Championships in Austin, Texas.
Haug and Michalowski were defeated in the first round of the main draw Thursday by second-seeded Leif Meinke and Wesley Moodie of Ball State, 7-6 (7-5), 7-5.
The pair advanced through the qualifying rounds of the championship to make it to the main draw. Haug and Michalowski defeated Willy Campos and Shannon Nettre of Troy State on Wednesday to advance to the tournament.
Junior Tyson Parry dropped out of the singles competition with his loss to Scott Eddins of Texas Christian Wednesday. Haug also dropped out on Wednesday on the heels of a loss to Nebraska’s Lance Mills.
