CLA dean shortlist announced
Published September 5, 2008
The search for a new dean of the College of Liberal Arts made headway last week, as three candidates from around the country were chosen as finalists for the position. Judith A. Howard, James A. Parente Jr. and Daniel Herwitz all made the short list, which was announced by University Provost Tom Sullivan on Aug. 29. Parente is the current interim CLA dean. The three finalists will visit the college throughout September, when they will each be interviewed by the search committee for two days, and will also be required to present a seminar. HowardâÄôs presentation is scheduled for Sept. 8, ParenteâÄôs for Sept. 10, and HerwitzâÄôs on the 22nd. The presentations will take place in the Coffman Theater and are open to the public.
