All lanes of University Avenue near the intersection of University and Oak Street SE. will be closed for two weekends in June, according to a news release. In order to complete final infrastructure work for the Metropolitan Council, these lanes will be closed on Friday, June 12 starting at 5 a.m. through Monday, June 15, and Friday, June 26 until the following Monday. Detour signs will point traffic north onto 17th Avenue SE, east onto 5th Street SE, and south onto 23rd Ave SE. Access will remain open to the McNamara Alumni Center and the University Avenue Parking Ramp. Pretesting of the new TCF Bank Stadium scoreboard speakers will also occur periodically throughout the week from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. until Friday June 12th , with final testing occurring during the week of June 15th.
