Former Gophers All-American Antonio Vega won the Robert E. DeCelle Jr. Award as the top male distance runner in the country.
Vega was awarded the prestigious honor by U.S. Track & Field as the 2010 U.S. Road Circuit Champion.
On the year, he earned four top-four finishes: he won the Aramco Half Marathon Championship in January; he took third in the National 15-Kilometer in March; fourth at the Bix U.S. Seven-Mile Championships in July; and second in the 10-Mile Championships in August.
Vega was a three-time NCAA Cross Country Championiships competitor, and was the Midwest Region Runner of the Year in 2005 after winning the regional title. Vega went on to earn All-America honors later that year. He graduated in 2007 and has been running professionally since.
