Coasters and cocktails?

Minnesota lawmakers introduced a bill Thursday that would allow Valleyfair to sell alcoholic beverages.

The legislation, authored by Sen. Eric Pratt, R-Prior Lake, would authorize the city of Shakopee to obtain an on-sale liquor license to the amusement park's operator and owner company, Cedar Fair Entertainment Co. There has been no conversation between legislatures and Valleyfair about what happens after the license is issued.

"Currently they're restricted from offering [alcohol], and we believe that the city of Shakopee should have the right to issue that liquor license if they deem is appropriate," Pratt said.

The bill was referred to the Senate's Commerce Committee where it will be looked at further.
