The five candidates running for student government leadership positions will take part in the All Campus Elections Commission Voting Awareness Campaign Friday.

The event will help promote the upcoming elections held on April 2-4, and inform voters about the candidates, Laura Pratt, the ACEC Get Out the Vote coordinator said.

“This is one of the greatest ways for candidates to get involved with and garner the vote of the student body,” she said.

The event will be held on Northrop Mall. Candidates will be available to talk to students about their campaigns and answer questions. Pratt said there will also be information about the election process so students can learn how to vote.

Candidates will participate in a debate on March 27 and 29 following the Voting Awareness Campaign.

Candidates for Minnesota Student Association president are Colter Heirigs and Taylor Williams. MSA vice presidential candidates are Angela Ugorets and Jilian Koski. Brittany Edwards is the only candidate running for president of the Graduate and Professional Student Assembly.
