University students assaulted and robbed

Two students were robbed and assaulted on campus early Sunday morning.

Two University of Minnesota students were assaulted and robbed early Sunday morning. The victims were approached by three men at the corner of 18th Street SE and University Avenue SE near the University Field House. One of the suspects punched a female victim in the nose and stole her wallet and keys, according to a University public safety alert. The other victim was also assaulted. Both victims were treated at the scene and released, according to the alert. The event occurred slightly after 2 a.m. The suspects were described as being between the ages of 20 and 25. One, described as a white male about 5 feet 7 inches tall had a medium build and wore a white button-up shirt with thin lines. The second suspect was described as a 6-foot-2-inch black male with a slight build. He wore a gray sweatshirt. The victims were only able to identify the third suspect as a white male.
