Friday Music âÄî An Evening with Chris Botti Orchestra Hall 1111 Nicollet Ave., Mpls. 8 p.m. $22-55 After appearing on the track among superstars like Paul Simon and Aretha Franklin, Trumpeter Chris Botti became known as the symbol of pop-jazz. Reading âÄî Lois West Duffy Common Good Books 165 Western Ave. N., St. Paul 2 p.m. Minnesota-native writer Lois West Duffy explores the life of an outsider through Zillah, a young woman living in Ancient Persia. The heroine hops on a caravan following a mysterious star, and the reader finds out just how far someone will go to protect their dark pasts. Sunday Film âÄî 2009 British Television Advertising Awards Walker Art Center 1750 Hennepin Ave., Mpls 3 p.m. $10 The British are coming! The British are coming! … and they’ve brought a slew of ridiculous advertisements with them. The British Television Advertising Awards touch on the more thought-provoking, sexy and inappropriate commercials aired in the UK in 2009. Plus, they’ve added a few throwbacks for extra viewing-pleasure.
