The fact that University of Minnesota President Bob Bruininks would speak at the Rally to Restore Affordability is laughable.
Granted, he was speaking about maintaining important state funding, but this is the man who has presided over large annual tuition increases since he took office. Tuition has doubled in the last decade, the majority of which has been under his presidency.
Bruininks and the Board of Regents have put their priority of becoming a top research institution above all else, and they are perfectly willing to reach that goal on the backs of students.
