The Gophers football team has “landed” another quarterback for its 2011-12 recruiting class, according to Zach Johsnon of Gopherillustrated.com, the Minnesota affiliate of the recruiting website Rivals.com.
Though the story does not say whether Manvel (Texas) quarterback Dexter Foreman has signed with the team, it does say that after meeting Minnesota assistant Jay Sawvel in Texas and making an official visit to Minneapolis last week, Foreman said he is moving to Minnesota on Thursday.
Foreman said he plans to compete with projected starting quarterback MarQueis Gray for the No. 1 spot under center.
Rivals lists the 6-1, 210-pound Foreman as a two-star (out of five), “dual-threat” quarterback.
Other than Gray, Foreman joins fellow 2011 recruit Max Shortell, redshirt freshman Tom Parish, sophomore Moses Alipate and junior Adam Lueck as quarterbacks listed on Minnesota’s roster.
