A breakdown of the Gophers’ 2014 recruiting class after National Signing Day.

JEFF JONES, RUNNING BACK, 4 STARS

Height/weight: 6 feet; 198 pounds

Hometown: Minneapolis

High school: Washburn High School

Offers: Jones had offers from 11 schools, including Florida, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Notes: Jones is the top-ranked recruit in Minnesota. He rushed for 1,525 yards as a senior and was named Minnesota’s 2013 Mr. Football.

 

ISAIAH GENTRY, WIDE RECEIVER, 3 STARS

Height/weight: 6 feet 4 inches; 185 pounds

Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio

High school: Archbishop Moeller High School

Offers: Minnesota, Akron, Bowling Green, Kent State and Rutgers.

Notes: Gentry caught 44 passes for 1,104 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2013 as his team went 14-1, and he won the Ohio Division I state high school football title.

 

GAELIN ELMORE, TIGHT END, 3 STARS

Height/weight: 6 feet 6 inches; 246 pounds

Hometown: Somerset, Wis.

High school: Somerset High School

Offers: Elmore had offers from eight schools, including Vanderbilt, Wisconsin and Nebraska.

Notes: Elmore led his team in receptions (seven) and receiving yards (129) as a senior. His team passed for just 431 yards all year. He was named first-team All-State as a defensive end/outside linebacker.

 

CONNOR MAYES, CENTER, 3 STARS

Height/weight: 6 feet 5 inches; 305 pounds

Hometown: Van Alstyne, Texas

High school: Van Alstyne High School

Offers: Mayes had offers from 19 schools, including Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Mississippi.

Notes: Mayes played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He’s listed as the 12th best center in the class of 2014, according to Rivals.com.

 

DIMONIC MCKINZY, ATHLETE, 3 STARS

Height/weight: 6 feet; 213 pounds

Hometown: Kansas City, Kan.

High school: Wyandotte High School

Offers: Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska.

Notes: He threw 26 touchdown passes as a senior. Roden-McKinzy enrolled at Minnesota last month and will participate in spring practice.

 

JULIEN KAFO, DEFENSIVE END, 3 STARS

Height/weight: 6 feet 4 inches; 255 pounds

Hometown: Mont-Tremblant, Quebec

Last college: Vanier College

Offers: Minnesota, Connecticut, Iowa, Miami (Ohio), Nebraska, Pittsburgh and Purdue.

Notes: Kafo recorded 35 tackles, five sacks and an interception in 2013 as his team went 7-4.

 

MELVIN HOLLAND JR., WIDE RECEIVER, 3 STARS

Height/weight: 6 feet 3 inches; 190 pounds

Hometown: Ashburn, Va.

High school: Briar Woods High School

Offers: He had offers from 13 schools, including Wisconsin and Boston College.

Notes: Holland Jr. caught 64 passes for 1,032 yards and 17 touchdowns as a senior and recorded 52 tackles on defense.

 

ANDREW STELTER, DEFENSIVE END, 3 STARS

Height/weight: 6 feet 4 inches; 264 pounds

Hometown: Owatonna, Minn.

High school: Owatonna Senior High School

Offers: Minnesota, Army, Duke, Harvard, Iowa State, Northern Illinois, Princeton and Yale.

Notes: Stelter was named first-team All-State by the Associated Press the last two years and led Owatonna to a Minnesota high school Class 5A state championship in 2013.
