Gophers men’s gymnastics wins in Big Ten opener against Illinois

In their first home meet of the season, the No. 9 Gophers’ men’s gymnastics team pulled out a close win over No. 6 Illinois 402.800-400.900 to secure their first victory of the young season.

Junior Shane Wiskus had another stellar night, finishing first in the floor exercise with a score of 14.650 and in the parallel bars with a career-high score of 15.100. Wiskus set a new NCAA season-high in both the parallel bars and all-around with a score of 84.600. This was the second week in a row Wiskus has finished first in the parallel bars, floor exercise and all-around score.
