A vacant building in Prospect Park caught fire early Monday morning, according to a Minneapolis Fire Department news release sent Monday morning.

The fire was in a commercial building located at 501 29th Ave. SE. around 6 a.m. and was contained within the structure.

MFD received reports from Minneapolis residents about squatters possibly “going in and out of the building,” but nobody was found at the scene and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
