The “M” footbridge that connects a sidewalk near Roy Wilkins Hall to the Knoll Area of campus closed Thursday and will remain inaccessible for at least a month because of inspections.
The need to evaluate the bridge surfaced after an earlier inspection conducted by Parking and Transportation Services, which revealed issues that needed a closer look, said Mary Sienko, marketing manager for Parking and Transportation Services.
Sienko said she didn’t know the date of the original inspection or the nature of its findings.
Officials expect to find portions of the bridge that need repair, which would extend the closure for an unknown amount of time, Sienko said.
