Minnesota men’s hockey freshman defensemen Alex Goligoski and Nate Hagemo have been named to the U.S. National Junior Team for the 2005 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championships.

Goligoski leads Minnesota rookies and defensemen in scoring with two goals and nine assists in 15 games this season.

Hagemo has one goal and one assist in 12 games this season.

V-ball trio all-region

Minnesota volleyball players Kelly Bowman, Paula Gentil and Erin Martin were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Mideast Region team Tuesday.

All three were named to first-team All-Big Ten last week.

Livingston earns honor

Minnesota women’s swimming and diving freshman Jessica Livingston was named the Big Ten diver of the week Tuesday.

Livingston finished in first place in the 3-meter and platform competitions and in third place in the 1-meter at the Georgia Invitational in Athens, Ga., during the weekend.
