A 22-year-old University of Minnesota student was hit by a taxi while walking through Dinkytown Thursday night.

The man was taken by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center with serious head injuries, said Minneapolis Police spokesman Scott Seroka.

Seroka said the student “darted into the street” at the intersection of 12th Avenue Southeast and 4th Street Southeast after the Gophers football game, at around 11:15 p.m.

The taxi driver stopped and cooperated, though police are still investigating the incident, Seroka said. The student’s current condition is unknown.
