Gopher women’s hockey brings back assistant coach

Tom Osiecki is returning to the Gophers women’s hockey team after a one year absence.

Osiecki was an assistant during head coach Brad Frost’s interim year in 2007-08, and Frost announced today in a Gopher Sports press release that Osiecki is returning to the team in the same capacity.

Former Gopher Natalie Darwitz is expected to become an assistant coach for the program in time for the 2010-11 season, but is currently training for the 2010 winter Olympics with the U.S. National team, thus freeing up a spot for Osiecki for the upcoming season.

Osiecki will officially begin on July 20th, and according to the release will work mostly with defensemen.
