Sept. 11’s hidden toll

I was really touched by the Sept. 11 edition of the Daily this year, and it was incredibly interesting to learn how the University of Minnesota campus reacted to such a tragic event like Sept. 11. But after reading the segment âÄú9/11 by the Numbers,âÄù I couldnâÄôt help but notice that the numbers of lost lives should be considerably higher.

We cannot forget about the lives that are still to this day being taken as a result of Sept. 11. This list of numbers should also include the countless soldiers that have lost their lives fighting for our country in the War on Terror. We cannot forget about the firefighters, police officers and New Yorkers who are continuing to die today as a result of cancers which were caused by the fumes from the collapsed World Trade Center.
