The University’s greek community saw a number of major changes last week.
On Dec. 2, the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council held nomination speeches for 2013 officers. The IFC held elections on the same day.
IFC Election Results:
President: Spencer Olson
Exectutive Vice President: Artur Serenbrenski
Vice President of Recruitment: Connor Evarts
Vice President of Finance: Ryan Geary
Vice President of Programming: Ryan Geary
Vice President of Programming: Tony Stolar
On the same day, the PHC voted to allow extension on campus. With this vote the campus will be open to sororities interested in installing a chapter at the U. According to previous Minnesota Daily Coverage (https://www.mndaily.com/2012/11/08/panhellenic-council-considers-adding-new-sororities) the council anticipates beginning interviews with interested sororities this spring and having a new chapter on campus by fall 2013.
On Dec. 5, the PHC announced results of their elections, which were hosted online following the December 2nd nomination speeches.

On Dec. 8, Theta Chi fraternity officially recognized its Alpha Pi chapter as a colony at the U. The colonization ceremony will take place in Hanson Hall on the campus’s West Bank. Theta Chi will become the first chapter this semester to officially colonize at the U. In previous Minnesota Daily coverage (https://www.mndaily.com/2012/12/04/four-frats-seek-return-campus) it was announced that four fraternities were looking to expand at the U beginning this fall.
