First-year Minnesota women’s basketball coach Brenda Oldfield received her third verbal commitment over the weekend.
Eden Prairie’s Christina Collison, a 6-foot-2 senior center who averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds last season, will join the team for the 2002-03 season.
Collison said the strong recruiting effort by the Gophers coaching staff and the opportunity to play close to home influenced her decision to attend Minnesota.
“Coach (Oldfield) has a good vision for the future,” Collison said.
The other two recruits already committed to the program are Shannon Bolden of Marshall and Shannon Shonrock of Blue Earth.
