The Gophers men’s golf team, led by Big Ten Athlete of the Month James McLean, received a bid to participate in the NCAA Central Regional, held May 14-16 in San Antonio.
Minnesota is ranked No. 17 in the latest coaches poll and McLean is the fifth-rated golfer in the nation in the Golfstat Cup standings.
Gophers to host clinic
Minnesota will host the Allina/Minneapolis Public Schools “Stay a Winner” Clinic on Saturday.
The clinic brings together about 500 fourth, fifth and sixth graders with student-athletes from the University. After a brief welcome, the kids will split up and members of several Gophers sports will conduct clinics.
