Legislature approves $9 million for renovation of Murphy Hall and additional $1 million for technology upgrades.

November 1998
University Facilites Management selects Ryan Company, a Minneapolis-based design and construction firm, for the Murphy Hall project.

Fall 1999
Construction begins. Journalism classes are relocated to the West Bank.

Fall 2000
Construction is completed. Photojournalism and the professional journalism master’s curricula will tentatively be reinstated at this time.
