New poll shows Dayton, Franken far ahead

A Public Policy Polling poll released Tuesday found that Gov. Mark Dayton and Sen. Al Franken are both ahead of GOP rivals by double-digit numbers.

According to the PPP poll, Franken is ahead of all Republican challengers, including his current strongest contendor, GOP endorsed candidiate Mike McFadden with a 49-38 lead. Franken's overall approval rating statewide is around 50 percent, with 40 percent of people reporting that they dissaprove of Franken. 

Dayton also leads polls with a 47-36 lead to GOP endorsed candidate Jeff Johnson. The poll also found that Dayton's approval rating was at 48 percent.
