The Gophers women's cross country team fell one spot in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national poll. The team is now No. 20 in the country after switching spots with Vanderbilt. Minnesota retained its grip on the No. 1 spot in the Midwest Region.

Minnesota has had one official race thus far this season. The Gophers placed 22 out of the top 25 runners in the Oz Memorial on Sept. 6. The team is currently preparing for the 28th Annual Roy Griak Invitational, which will take place on Sept. 28.
