More than two months after appearing before the NCAA Committee on Infractions, the University has not heard whether the panel will impose further sanctions on the men’s basketball program.
University spokesperson Scott Linders said the University has received no word from the committee.
NCAA officials said in early August that the University could expect the final report, including sanctions, by mid-October.
NCAA spokesperson Jane Jankowski, however, said Tuesday that the timeframe was an early estimate.
“The six to eight weeks was a guideline,” she said. “It doesn’t necessarily have to happen in that time.”
Jankowski said that new findings or the busy schedules of panel members could be slowing the release of the report.
