Two-year term
U.S. representatives work within the House of Representatives to vote on issues of national relevance in accordance with Minnesota constituent beliefs. Representatives also serve on legislative committees and draft and amend potential policies on specialized areas of expertise.
Local district offices help constituents with visa and immigration issues, social security matters and veterans affairs issues.
Minnesota has eight representatives in the House, each corresponding to a district of about 550,000 constituents. There are 435 representatives in House.
