Gun found near body never belonged to police, city says: According to the Star Tribune, a Russian-made handgun found next to the body of Fong Lee was never in police custody, the city said in court today. Lee’s family has alleged that police planted the gun on his body after he was killed.Franken staffer prepared for recount before Election Day: MinnPost has a feature on Stephanie Schriock, Franken’s 36-year-old campaign manager, who has been leading the recount effort for the Democrat from the beginning. Boomer boom: St.Paul police K9 Boomer, who is recovering at a University of Minnesota vet clinic after being shot, is becoming a bit of a local celebrity. The Daily has him on today’s front page, while KARE11 and Fox9 both have stories on the dog.
