Minnesota improved their record to 2-1-0 today after edging out Kennesaw State, 1-0.
Though Minnesota had 11 shots land at goal, junior Katie Bethke scored the only goal of the game after taking a pass from freshman Allie Phillips.
Kennesaw State goalkeeper Staci Pugh made a school record of 10 saves during the games. Minnesota goalkeeper, freshman Cat Parkhill, earned her second shutout of the season.
Minnesota returns home next weekend to host Tennessee at 7 p.m. on Sept. 4, and North Dakota State at 1 p.m. on Sept. 6.
