Gophers dominate WCHA season awards

The Gophers women' hockey team dominated the WCHA season awards this year.

Junior forward Amanda Kessel won the Player of the Year, the WCHA Scoring Champion and was named to the conference's First Team. Senior defender Megan Bozek won the Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the First Team. Senior goaltender Noora Räty was the Goaltending Champion and earned First Team honors. Freshman forward Hannah Brandt garnered the Rookie of the Year award as well as First Team and Rookie Team honors.

Head coach Brad Frost claimed the Coach of the Year title.

Junior forward Kelly Terry, senior defender Mira Jalosuo and sophomore defender Rachel Ramsey made the Third Team, while freshman forward Maryanne Menefee and freshman defender Milica McMillen made the Rookie Team.

The Gophers face Ohio State in the semifinals of the WCHA Final Face-off on Friday at Ridder Arena.
