The Minnesota women’s golf team held their ground on the leaderboard Tuesday as they finished in fifth out of 20 teams at the Heather Farr Memorial Invitational at the Colorado National Golf Course in Erie, Colo.
The Gophers shot a 46-over-par 910.
Texas Tech won the event shooting an 18-over-par 882, 28 strokes ahead of the Gophers.
Red Raiders junior Alex Gibson took home medalist honors by shooting a 3-under-par 213.
Junior Michelle Eldin tied with Freshman Jackie Shepherd to lead the Gophers at 6-over-par, good enough to share the sixth spot overall.
Junior Samantha Sommers followed in a tie for 36th, shooting 16-over-par 232.
Fellow juniors Mary Narzisi and Teresa Puga ended at 20 and 21-over-par respectively, landing them at a tie for 53rd and 57th.
The Gophers will head to Nevada for the Las Vegas Invitational on October 26-28.
