WCha Hockey Preview

The intuition of five men’s hockey coaches say that the the WCHA is on the brink of a record-setting season. According to the 29th annual Grand Forks Herald WCHA preseason coaches’ poll, North Dakota is poised to win its fourth consecutive regular season title.
No team has done that in the 48-year history of the WCHA.
The Sioux received five first-place votes. Underneath them is a tight race between nine other teams planning to play the spoiler.
Colorado College is expected to finish just below North Dakota with Wisconsin coming in third. Minnesota settled for fourth place in the poll while 1998-99 WCHA Final Five champion Denver rounds out the league’s upper echelon.
