U gets B+ on environmental report card

ItâÄôs not football, but at least the University of Minnesota heads up the Big Ten with a grade of B+ on a college sustainability report card. The rankings were compiled by the Sustainable Endowments Institute, with 300 schools graded on topics like recycling, investments and student involvement. The University received recognition, along with 13 other colleges, as endowment sustainability leaders for endowment transparency, shareholder engagement and green investments. The University received special attention for its food and recycling program, partly because they helped found the Heartland Food Network, a collaboration between local farmers and food service facilities. The report card has been released annually for the last three years, during each of which the University has improved its ranking.
