Officer Obie was looking at Elmo suspiciously. “We found your name on an envelope at the bottom of a pile of litter, and you’ll have to come in to face charges.”
Elmo had to think fast. What could he say to get out of this?
“You can get anything you want, at Alice’s Restaurant. And there will be flurries and a high near 20 today, with highs in the 20s tomorrow.”
The officer was now looking at Elmo strangely. “I’ve heard the song, but never the forecast. Must be a conspiracy.”
“Yup. It’s the massacree,”Elmo said. And he was thankful.
