The players that got away

Some critics have said that Minnesota doesn’t have to cross state lines to get the best talent, the Gophers just haven’t been getting the best home-grown players. Here is a list of the best Minnesota players not to sign with the Gophers. Behold, The All-They Got Away Team.
F: Toby Peterson — Colorado College. Native of Bloomington. All-WCHA Rookie selection 1996-1997 All-WCHA Tournament selection 1997.
F: Jason Blake — North Dakota. Native of Moorhead. Two-time First Team All-WCHA. Hobey Baker Candidate.
F: Josh Langfeld Michigan. Native of Coon Rapids. Scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Boston College in the 1998 NCAA championship game.
D: Scott Swanson — Colorado College. Native of College Grove. Two-time First Team All-WCHA. Two-time WCHA All-Academic.
D: Dan Peters — Colorado College. Native of Cottage Grove. Played on U.S. Select 16 and 17 teams. Member of World Junior Team two years ago.
