University students and area residents are reminded to watch for no-parking signs as the city of Minneapolis begins its month-long spring street sweeping today.
No-parking signs will be posted 24 hours in advance of sweeping. During a sweep day, parking will be banned from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Automobile owners failing to comply face ticketing and towing to the Municipal Impound Lot.
Because individual route dates are not rigidly adhered to, Mike Kennedy, street maintenance supervisor for Minneapolis, advises to simply watch for the no-parking signs.
Sweeping of main streets and alleys is already largely complete.
