Parking Lottery opens

The parking lottery, a chance for students to nab a contract for parking space on campus, opened today.

According to an email from the University of Minnesota’s Parking and Transportation Services, students are able to enter the lottery for the chance to purchase a guaranteed parking spot at one of the U’s facilities. Winners will be notified via email.

About two out of three students get a parking contract, according to the Transportation Services website.

If a student lives in a residence hall, they’ll gain a spot closest to their dorm room.

Drawings for parking spaces will take place on Dec. 2, Dec. 7, and Dec. 13.

All unclaimed contracts will go on sale on Jan. 9.
