Friday: 26th Annual BareBones Puppets Halloween Extravaganza

It’s time to get in the spooky spirit this Friday! Join BareBones, a local puppetry company, for a magical night of multimedia storytelling at their annual Halloween Extravaganza. The event is a Twin Cities’ cult classic. The entire night is dedicated to the spooktacular theme of “and the fires will burn…” Stick around after the show for free food from Sister’s Camelot. 

Where: Hidden Falls Regional Park North Gate, 1305 S. Mississippi Blvd., St. Paul

When: 7 – 9:30 p.m. (Doors open at 6:30 p.m.) 

Cost: Suggested donation of $10-$20 

Saturday: Ghostbusters (1984 Digital) Screening at The Parkway Theater

Who you gonna call? Where you gonna go? To the spooky screening of the 1984 classic, Ghostbusters. Enjoy a Halloween-themed night with your friends at the movies. The newly reimagined Parkway opened in 2018 and hosts a variety of events, from 35mm films and performing arts to comedy shows and speaker series. You can purchase tickets at the door or via the theater’s website.

Where: The Parkway Theater, 4814 Chicago Ave., Minneapolis

When: 1 p.m. (Doors open at noon.) 

Cost: $6 for age 12 and under; $8 for age 13 and up at the door. Tickets reduced by $1 if purchased in advance.

Sunday: Yoga with Cats

Fall can be a busy time, so make sure to take time to care for yourself. Consider checking out The Cafe Meow’s basic yoga class this Sunday, where you will be joined by roaming rescue cats. They might even join in on the yoga poses. After yoga, treat yourself to a complimentary cup of tea. All of the cats are available for adoption and cannot wait to be cuddled. The Cafe Meow asks that you bring your own yoga mat and a donation if you are able. Each class can hold a capacity of eight people, so get your tickets now.

When: 6:30 -7:30 p.m. 

Cost: $20 

Local Artist Spotlight: MilesPerHour

Miles Campbell, also known as MilesPerHour, is an up-and-coming electronic music producer and DJ in the Twin Cities. A junior at the University of Minnesota, Campbell studies music. His debut single, “Dreamer,” is a classic EDM banger. Fun fact: Campbell is a graduate of Slam Academy, a music production school based out of Minneapolis.
