The University of Minnesota named its new vice president of University Services Thursday.

The University announced that Mike Berthelsen, who served as interim VP for the past 13 months, accepted an offer for the permanent position in a press release.

“I have confidence that he will provide the kind of service-oriented leadership necessary to lead University Services,” said Brian Burnett, senior vice president for finance and operations in the press release.

The previous vice president, Pamela Wheelock, cited leadership restructuring as her reason for stepping down in August 2016.

The decision is pending Board of Regents approval at an Oct. 13 meeting.
