Bike race wheels in fun

On Aug. 8, the University will host the state’s premier biking event, the Campus Criterion. Sponsored in part by the University’s physical therapy program, the event will provide benefits for both the Department of Physical Therapy and the University community as a whole.
The race will further enhance biking on campus as a result of the physical therapy program’s involvement. The program is sponsoring a health fair that will run concurrently with the races, staffed by department staff members and students, who will inform attendees about proper stretching and injury prevention techniques.
The event will also offer a children’s race, which aims to teach the importance of bike safety while simultaneously providing them with an entertaining activity. The most anticipated event is the men’s elite race, with professional cyclists who often reach speeds of 40 mph.
The University is always enhanced by events that are both entertaining and educational. The Campus Criterion will promote greater bicycle safety and provide an entertaining event for University bicycling enthusiasts.
