After missing all but two games of the 2010-11 season with a knee injury, Gophers wide receiver Brandon Green will not have that season counted against his eligibility, the team announced Monday.
The Big Ten has granted him a medical hardship waiver, meaning he now has two years of eligibility remaining.
Green, a 6-foot, 190-pound Chicago native, returned four punts for 37 yards in 2010. As a sophomore in 2009, he started five of the 12 games in which he appeared.
He had 21 catches that year for 293 yards and one touchdown. As a freshman, Green had 21 catches for 306 yards.
âÄúThis is good news for Brandon and for our program,âÄù Gophers coach Jerry Kill said in a release. âÄúWe look forward to having him on our roster for two more seasons.âÄù
