CULTURE TO CONSUME

Listen to this: “My Favorite Murder”

Hosted by comedians Georgia Hardstark and Karen Kilgariff, “My Favorite Murder” is a comedic podcast about homicide. Hardstark and Kilgariff present an alternative to other true crime podcasts like “Serial” by combining crime tales, dark humor and candid discussions about their real fears.

Watch this: “Mr. Robot”

Rami Malek, who plays the main character in the cyber-thriller series, Mr. Robot, just became the first ethnic minority actor in 18 years to take home an Emmy for best Leading Actor in a Drama Series. What better time to start binge watching a new show? “Mr. Robot” follows Malek’s character as he joins a team of hackers who are on a quest to take down the dangerous corporation, E Corp. The first season is available via streaming on Amazon.

Read this: “Coraline”

Halloween is just around the corner, everyone! Labeled as a children’s story, Neil Gaiman’s beloved novel — Coraline — will give you just enough spooks before October rolls around. Follow Coraline as she tumbles through terrifying dimensions and alternate worlds, then trick-or-treat yourself further with a screening of the 2009 stop-motion film adaptation.
