The Rev. Jesse Jackson will appear at the Gateway Alumni Center today at 4:30 p.m. as part of a DFL-sponsored “Get Out the Vote” rally.
Jackson, a Democratic Party member and prominent civil rights leader, will also participate in a luncheon at Lucille’s Kitchen and a meeting with Minneapolis Mayor Sharon Sayles Belton at the Sabathani Community Center as part of his Twin Cities visit.
The Gateway Center event is an effort by the DFL to build support for the Gore-Lieberman presidential ticket and part of Jackson’s national campaign for presidential hopeful Vice President Al Gore.
