Pre-game notes: Nikki Ludwigson has replaced Laura May in the line-up, which looks like this: West-Marvin-Francis Erickson-J.Lamoureux-M. Lamourex Blankenship-Schoullis-Jones Rasmussen-Horton-Ludwigson Drazan-Maunu Schleper-Gagnon Zebro-Seeler Starting in net tonight is Jenny Lura. who has given up only one goal in 38 shots during three games. Around the WCHA: Last night saw Mankato beat North Dakota and Duluth lost to St. Cloud-both in a shootout. Wisconsin beat Bemidji 4-0. The first period saw Minnesota score two goals from the Erickson-Lamoureux-Lamoureux line to end the period ahead 2-0. Last night that line was responsible for two goals. There were only four penalties, two for each team, this period. The Buckeyes came out in the second period and scored two quick goals with-in the first three minutes to tie the game. The Gophers didn’t let the Buckeyes have momentum and scored 3 goals to end the period 5-2. Once again, each team took four penalties, but only the Gophers capitalized when Jen Schoullis put one in for Minnesota’s third goal. The Gophers came out and scored to make the game 6-2. Rachael Drazan knocked in a goal through Ohio’s goalie’s five-hole to make the game 7-2. Chelsey Jones scored her first goal after Ohio received a five-minute misconduct. Ohio still got a couple shots and Lura used her glove to rob a goal from the Buckeyes. Up next for the Gophers are the Badgers next weekend. This period provided many odd-man rushes in favor of the Gophers.
