In other Minnesota football news, the All-Big Ten teams were announced yesterday, with the Gophers well represented. Junior wide receiver Eric Decker, a Biletnikoff Award finalist and potential All-American, was named first-team by the media and coaches. Senior defensive end Willie VanDeSteeg also garnered first-team honors from the media.
Sophomore quarterback Adam Weber, junior cornerback Traye Simmons, and senior tight end Jack Simmons all made the second-team on either the coaches’ or media’s ballott (or Traye’s case, both), and sophomore safety Kyle Theret was on the media’s honorable mention team.
