The Gopher men’s 2009-2010 hockey schedule were announced today in a press release.
Minnesota is looking to rebound after last years disappointing end, with a loss to Minnesota Duluth in the WCHA Final Five leaving them on the outside looking in of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2000.
The Gophers will have a chance to seek their revenge against the Bulldogs of Duluth on November 21 and 22, when the two teams will meet at Mariucci.
Minnesota begins its season against defending McNaughton Cup WCHA regular season champions North Dakota. That series, in Grand Forks, will take place on October 16 and 17.
The first home series for the Gophers will be the following weekend,October 23 and 24, when Minnesota will face Denver.
Overall, the Gophers face strong competition from the very beginning of the season as the first eight games are against WCHA conference members.
The non-conference schedule includes series against Bemidji State, who were recently denied entry at least temporarily, into the WCHA conference. Other non-conference opponents include Harvard and Bowling Green.
The full schedule can be found on Gophersports.
