Lakeville man charged with sexual assault sentenced

He will begin his 365-day workhouse sentence today

The Lakeville man involved in a 2009 sexual assault within a University of Minnesota neighborhood apartment building was sentenced Thursday in Hennepin County District Court. Hennepin County Judge Toddrick Barnette sentenced Alexander Gene Bouchier to a 120-month conditional release sentence, which will have Bouchier serving 365 days in the Hennepin County Adult Corrections facility âÄî seven of which have already been completed. From there, Bouchier will spend the next decade on conditional release probation. Any violations of his probation will potentially result in a prison sentence of up to 10 years. The victim, who was present when Bouchier entered his guilty plea, chose not to attend the sentencing. The Aug. 21, 2009 assault was captured by surveillance cameras inside Elmwood Apartments on Rollins Avenue Southeast. Bouchier turned himself into custody on Sept. 1 and entered a guilty plea earlier this month.
