Gophers’ McDonald released from hospital

Gophers wide receiver Andre McDonald was released from the hospital Thursday night after undergoing tests earlier in the day, a team spokesman confirmed.

McDonald told the Minnesota Daily on Thursday afternoon that he had a “little problem with my heart.” He was listed as questionable for Saturday’s game against Syracuse with an undisclosed injury.

McDonald has not played in the Gophers’ last two games. Head coach Jerry Kill said two weeks ago that he had suffered an infection in his leg from a turf burn.
