Masked robbers cornered graduate student Evan Henke between 14th and 15th avenues Southeast, on Fifth Street Southeast, flashed a gun and took HenkeâÄôs wallet before riding away Thursday night, according to a police report. The cyclist in front said through the blue bandana across his face, âÄúYou have a dollar?âÄù Henke , en route to hang out with friends, said he did have money, and then he asked them why they wanted to know. Then the cyclist pulled a hand gun from the pouch of his black hooded sweatshirt and said, âÄúIâÄôm asking for your money,âÄù Henke said. Because Henke knew he only had $15 in his wallet, he said he wasnâÄôt about to argue with the robbers; instead he asked if he could take his driverâÄôs license out of his wallet, which the masked cyclists agreed to let him do. âÄúIt is a little unnerving to know that there are people in the area willing to coerce you at gunpoint,âÄù Henke said.
