On Tuesday, the Gophers football team released its depth chart, which included changes resulting from the suspensions of two defensive players.
For Minnesota’s game against Wisconsin, sophomore defensive end Anthony Jacobs will start in place of senior Cedric McKinley, who has been suspended two games for violating team rules and policies.
Jacobs has appeared in all four games this season, recording six tackles, including a sack at Northwestern.
“Anthony’s playing really well, and he played really well against Northwestern, and we think that he’s a good football player,” Brewster said on Tuesday. “That’s a real positive — again, with our program…is the type of depth that we have.”
Sophomore backup safety Tim Dandridge, who was also suspended two games for violating team rules and policies, will be replaced on the depth chart by junior defensive back Ryan Collado. Collado, who made two starts at cornerback in place of injured senior Marcus Sherels, will back up junior safety Kim Royston. Senior Michael McKelton, who has not appeared in a game this season after playing in 14 games over the past two years, will back up Sherels.
