Men’s hockey TV schedule released

Minnesota and Fox Sports Net have released the television schedule for the 2003-04 season of Gophers men’s hockey. Fox Sports North will broadcast 32 games, with additional postseason games to be added in the future. In all, 32 of 39 regular season games will be televised.

The season kicks off on Fox Sports North on Oct. 10-11, as the two-time defending national champion Gophers head to Omaha, Neb., for the UNO Stampede tournament. Minnesota battles 2002 national finalist Maine in the season-opener at 5:05 p.m. Oct. 10 Fox Sports will broadcast Minnesota’s home opener against Minnesota-Duluth at 7:05 p.m. on Oct. 24. That night, the Gophers will unveil their 2003 NCAA championship banner at Mariucci Arena.

Both games of the College Hockey Showcase – Nov. 28 at Michigan State and Nov. 29 at Michigan – will be broadcast. The following games will not be televised: Oct. 24 vs. Minnesota-Duluth, Nov. 22 vs. Michigan Tech, Dec. 5-6 at Alaska-Anchorage, Dec. 11 exhibition game vs. Latvian National Team, Dec.

20 vs. Princeton and Feb. 27 at Denver.
